Help Support Our Dad as He Fights to Recover From Spinal Surgery
Our family is reaching out for support during an incredibly difficult time. Five months ago, our father Jeffrey Kay underwent spinal surgery that resulted in a severe internal infection. Since then, he has been in two different hospitals and two rehabilitation centers, fighting every day to regain his strength.
Unfortunately, due to complications from the infection, he is now paralyzed from the waist down. At this point, we do not know if mobility will return—only time, treatment, and continued therapy will tell.
A Man Who Has Always Given Back
For more than 20 years, our dad has been a dedicated volunteer for our local soccer organization. He spent countless hours supporting the league, helping local kids, and even coaching his granddaughter’s team. His kindness, patience, and commitment to his community have touched so many lives.
Now, the man who has always been the first to help others needs help himself.
The complications from his surgery have left our parents facing unexpected medical bills and overwhelming changes at home. Their house is currently not wheelchair accessible, making everyday tasks extremely difficult and unsafe.
To bring him home safely and allow him to maintain dignity and comfort, several major modifications are urgently needed:
Expanding the bathroom by removing walls so a wheelchair can fit
Installing a handicap-accessible shower
Relocating plumbing to keep a usable sink in the bathroom
Adding a wheelchair ramp so he can enter and exit the house safely for appointments and therapy
These renovations are essential, but financially impossible for them to manage alone.
We are reaching out to the community—the same community my dad has served for over two decades—to ask for any assistance you’re able to give. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward making the home safe and accessible so he can continue his recovery with dignity.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page. Your support, prayers, and encouragement mean more to our family than you’ll ever know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
