Support for Sandy Conti's fight against cancer

Sandy Conti has given so much to his community over the years—more than words can fully capture. Whether coaching local baseball and basketball teams, driving ambulances and fire trucks for the East Montpelier Fire Department, or dedicating his time to charity work as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Sandy has always been the first to step up and lend a hand.

An avid outdoorsman, Sandy finds joy in fishing, hunting, and participating in the cherished Vermont tradition of sugaring. His love for his community and the natural beauty around him is evident in everything he does.

But on March 27, 2025, Sandy’s world changed in an instant. After collapsing at home, he was rushed to the hospital by none other than his beloved fire department family. A CT scan at CVMC revealed a brain tumor. Days later, at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, a skilled neurology team was able to remove most of it.

We held onto hope for a positive diagnosis. Instead, we received heartbreaking news: Sandy has Glioblastoma—an aggressive and unforgiving form of brain cancer. The prognosis is difficult, but we are doing everything we can to fight alongside him.

Sandy and his wife of 26 years now, Terri face a long and uncertain road. We want to ensure that she is supported and doesn’t have to carry the weight of medical expenses alone—especially while living on a fixed income.
