Community Love for Miss Kiki

Our generation knows her as Evelyn Rivera, but to most of our kids, she’s known as “Miss Kiki”.

For over 6 yrs, Miss Kiki opened her home and taught Bethlehem’s inner city kids how to dance, never asking for anything in return. It was her own love and passion for dance, that brought “dance” alive in the community. She believed in our kids and was the driving force in making their dreams of becoming outstanding dancers, come true.

Miss Kiki held local car washes to raise funds to enter her dance students into National Competitions, and won numerous trophies in almost every category.
She also lead middle school dance groups to compete in school talent shows.

Miss Kiki won a Community Service award from the Bethlehem Housing Authority for all of her work in helping underprivileged kids.
She was also featured in the Express Times and Morning Call for her accomplishments.

Miss Kiki’s notable contributions to the kids of Bethlehem landed her a contract to teach dance at William Penn, Thomas Jefferson, Marvine, Asa Packer, Calypso, Clearview, Donegan, Lincoln, Miller Heights, Governor Wolf, Spring Garden, Farmersville, and Freemansburg Elementary schools
Northeast, Nitschmann, and East Hills middle schools, and both Freedom and Liberty High Schools.

As her students are now young adults, many of them went on to become professional dancers, performers for well known artists, dance choreographers, instructors and more. Their success started with her.

And now Miss Kiki needs our help. She needs the community to pull together for her. She was recently diagnosed with an infection on her mid brain, which traveled down into her frontal sinuses, causing her to lose bone in her face. As a result, she had undergone one emergency surgery and will need to have another one done shortly. The medical costs for these procedures are not covered under her insurance and will have to come out of pocket.

She is facing a financial burden and is struggling to make ends meet.

For any donation big or small, know that her heart will be full of gratitude. If you can’t, please share the page, in hopes that her story reaches the community she once helped and gets her one step closer to getting the medical treatment she needs.

God bless,
