The Community Kitchen Co-op provides quality, nutritious and accessible meals created through the transparent co-ownership efforts of local farmers and workers. 

Before launching our first meal cycle October 5, we hope to reach our goal of renovating our kitchen space to be able to properly service our community. The remodel will not only allow us to do a large-scale production for our meal plan service, but it will also be an effective space available for rental. Adjoining the kitchen are two large dining rooms to accommodate all sorts of gatherings. With your contribution, this kitchen in the Community Kitchen Co-op space will help encourage collaboration, fair wages, and good health, and rejuvenate the farmer to eater relationships in our community.

At Community Kitchen Co-op, we offer monthly meal plans and groceries for customers to pick-up or have delivered locally, every week. All our meals are made from locally sourced ingredients with an emphasis on seasonal availability while supporting small-scale agricultural endeavors. CKC uses a modified "CSA" (Community Supported Agriculture) model of shared investment between producers and eaters - it’s an excellent way to provide stability and build relationships. Our goals include improving access to profitable markets for local food producers; fair wages for community workers; and fresh, local, and accessible meal and grocery add-on options for our customers.

The Community Kitchen   Co-op aims to build a more resilient food system through a culture of transparency, accessibility, fair wages and year-round distribution; and by prioritizing strong partnerships with a wide community of eaters. Our long term vision is to lead a collaborative agricultural, environmental, educational, community-building and wellness-focused movement. Our Co-op seeks to support the responsible positioning of our community to face climate change, from seed to table. The CKC envisions sharing our cooperative framework with other food system organizers.


From Farm to Kitchen to Everyone’s Table

Several years ago, our Co-op founders and supporters began brainstorming a new approach to local food production and distribution in our home of South Central Wisconsin. Beginning in the Summer of 2020, the Community Kitchen Co-op Steering Committee discussed solutions to our concerns of healthy food access, small scale farmer profitability, the overall mental and physical wellness of our community, and the stability and equity of our local economy.

Community Kitchen Co-op is a reaction to these needs of our community - to benefit farmers, eaters, and everyone in between. The ideas and support behind our Cooperative idea came from our Steering Committee, the South Central Chapter of the Wisconsin Farmers Union and many other local organizations and individuals.
