Hello all! I'm Matt Gurganus and if you know me personally I'm not too shy about how my life is going if asked, and how I pride myself on trying to make it relying on myself day by day without being a bother to others. Some may know me just because of my unique lil green car lol. I have been functionally homeless since the beginning of February and to be honest it hasn't been that bad living out of my car and making a living with my regular job and door dashing. I've tried to get back to stable housing and applying for promotions and better jobs, and recently have been doubling down on door dash to fantastic results. Unfortunately with the wear and tear on the vehicle that comes with dashing, I have reached a hard line with what appears to be cv axles and/or bushings. My car is virtually and literally ready to fall apart any time now, and every mile I go is a gamble. I would like to take it to a shop to restore my dashing job, and get back to making money and serving the community again in that capacity.
As I've realized recently, I am a part of this community. People know me out of work, I dash and provide a service, and even my normal job provides a resource to our local and state level communities.
That realization has allowed me to suspend my pride and seek help to get back to a point where I can be stable enough to engage in that communal reciprocation again, as currently I am stuck in a 5 mile loop around my normal job with no recourse but to camp out in my car for a few paydays to fix the car myself at a shop. Fully prepared to keep moving spots and go to work and hope for the best, but if I can be helped and expedite that recovery I'm willing to take whatever help I can.
Thank you for reading my story and have a great day!
