Community help for Liz Geigenmiller & family
Hello friends and family near and far! As many of you may know, one of our families is experiencing a medical crisis. Liz Geigenmiller was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of peritoneal cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. If you're reading this, you may be a relative of the Geigs. You may know Liz from the community, or through her work with the school district. You probably know her husband Ernie from the community and through his work with Lacamas Magazine. You might also know any of their four amazing sons: Brendan, Christian, Jordan, and Aaron. We have set up this Go Fund Me as a way to support the Geigenmillers and to show them how much we love and support them. All donations will go to the family to help with uninsured medical costs and living expenses as Liz is unable to work and Ernie has had to cut back on work substantially. Please give what you can and please continue to include the family in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely and with gratitude,
Deanna Rusch

A message from Ernie:
On June 14, 2021, my wife, Liz Geigenmiller, was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer, a rare and very aggressive disease that has rocked our world. Less than 24 hours later she underwent emergency surgery to remove many cancer tumors that had already infected several organs. Her recovery from that surgery is remarkable, but chemotherapy has started and that’s bringing its own set of challenges — and expenses.
We do have great health insurance and an excellent medical team treating Liz. She’s a fighter and keeps a positive attitude. What I’ve learned in recent weeks is that there are dozens of hidden expenses not covered by insurance (along with our own portion) and those costs are adding up. It’s daunting. I’ve realized I cannot work harder to cover all these costs, so we are asking for financial help to help navigate our way through this crisis.
The money raised will be used to pay cancer expenses and allow me to take time off work to care for Liz when the road gets really rocky. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️, The Geigenmillers.
