Adopt a honey bee hive!

I started Browns Bee Service in 2018 doing a few simple removals to fill a need void as a cheaper alternative to Terminix, Orkin and other bee removal companies that just kill all flying insects regardless if they were honey bees or not. I developed a love and technique for handling honey bees which expanded into other areas. I have relied heavily on the word of every one, who supported my work, to get my name out there, especially in my early days. I'm so greatfull to every one who has been a part of that growth. I'm proud of the business that I have built and that I'm continuing to build in order to serve my community.
In 2019 I started selling local honey using simple crush and strain methods and bees wax using a make shift melting and filter system. In 2020 I became a full fledged business by filing my paperwork with the state and feds; I started a store in Portland MI (my home town) and refined my products. I started selling my own candles, chunk honey, flavored honey, hand balms, lip balms and beekeeping supplies. This year in 2021 I will continue to refine my products and grow to support a larger area while providing amazing, locally sourced, healthy, honey, equipment and other products. If you find yourself with any bee related issue please shoot me an email at [email redacted] and find me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/brownsbeeservice I would love to help you out! If you're interested in beekeeping this year or are looking for supplies to support your current honeybee management plan, let me know what items you need. I am local to the Portland/Ionia area and enjoy being your go to guy for beekeeping supplies. I have lots of hive boxes ready to go!
Yearly PSA: Swarm season for honey bees starts soon. If you see a cluster of bees hanging on a limb (or other object and even the ground, if a queen bee can not get to a suitable location), you need a beekeeper, not an exterminator, flamethrower, water hose, or bug spray. Please call me! I would be love to pick up these bees and give them a good home, and answer any questions that you have. Side note: Swarms are quite literally homeless bees, as such, they are not defending a hive, and are usually quite docile. But that doesn't mean you should mess with them unless you know what you're doing. I'm actually really looking forward to wasp and hornet season this year. I developed a new technique last year for dealing with vicious ground wasps and I'm looking forward to serving you all for any bee, wasp and hornet related issues that you come across this year!
I am seeking funds from local community members and supporters of my business page in order to pay for a lease on a local building and for beekeeping equipment to better support my community. This year I am working with two different school districts to teach elementary school aged kids about honey bees and their importance. I am also continuing my adult educational classes and mentorship programs. Another big goal of mine is to publish a book this year that I wrote about being a new beekeeper in Michigan and things I wish I would have known before becoming a beekeeper in a northern state. Any and all help is greatly appreciated so that I can continue helping out the local community and our local pollinators If I could get every one who follows the business page to donate $10 I would be able to meet my goal and I would be eternally grateful!
