Hello Shasta County and surrounding friends and neighbors,

I am setting up this GoFundMe for my incredible neighbors, the Bigelow family. Long before they were my neighbors, they were my parents’ neighbors—and to say they are more than neighbors is truly an understatement.

Jennifer is an amazing wife and a devoted mother to two children who are her world. She has been a valued member of the Enterprise School District family, working at Parsons Junior High for the past eight years. Prior to that, she was deeply involved in everything her children did within the district—making costumes and props for productions, helping with rehearsals, and always showing up with love and support.

Jennifer’s husband, Greg, has been an incredible neighbor and friend. He works for Enterprise Plumbing, and I’m certain many people throughout Shasta County have welcomed him into their homes at one point or another. Their two children, Connor and Sydney, are among the kindest young people I know. This family is truly special, and we are so blessed to have them as part of our community.

Around January 15th, Jennifer began feeling unwell, and her symptoms continued to worsen. On January 20th, she went to the emergency room and was admitted to the hospital. She was later released and sent home on oxygen but had to return on January 31st due to difficulty breathing. On February 3rd, Jennifer was life-flighted to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas, as it was the first facility with availability to provide the level of care she needed.

Jennifer has since been diagnosed with cervical cancer and non–small cell carcinoma in her lungs. This devastating diagnosis has turned their world upside down. Greg is by her side while their children remain at home, bravely holding down the fort.

At this time, neither Jennifer nor Greg is able to work, and medical and household bills will continue to add up quickly. They could truly use our community’s support during this incredibly difficult journey.
