"Last night around 10:45 PM, my daughter experienced a serious metabolic episode similar to a thyroid storm — a rare and frightening crisis where the body floods with thyroid hormones, sending the heart rate, blood pressure, and nervous system into dangerous overdrive. We rushed her to the ER, where the medical team worked quickly to stabilize her heart rate with propranolol and supportive care through the night.

At 5 AM, I drove her to a pediatric care center where she is currently receiving:

• IV fluids and hydration

• Thyroid antibody testing

• Hemoglobin A1c labs

• Cardiac ultrasound

• Orthostatic workup (to assess how her nervous system responds to position changes)

• Endocrinologist consultation and or referral

Her insurance covers 65% of her care, and thanks to YOUR generosity, her first two ER copays ($300 each) have already been covered.

She will also begin physical therapy for potential dysautonomia and see her Chinese medicine doctor this week because we believe in whole-body healing, East and West, body and spirit.

Her new pediatrician will be concierge at $150 a month because in Nevada, the care isn't great. Once from the hospital, she will need labs to check for MCAS, Iron and ferritin, MTHFR Genetic Enzymes, C , hypermobility spectrum disorder, and traditional Chinese medicine. Some of this will be cash pay, because again, insurance covers $65% of labs.
