Hi! My name is KD Orfield, or as most of Baltimore knows me, KD the Hair Witch! :) Thanks for taking the time. I am a 29-year-old, 10-year senior stylist at Crafted Hair Studio, as well as a local Baltimore artist! If you've seen my work, you probably know me for my fashion color work and alternative haircuts. But I'd like to put an emphasis on how much my career means to me, or more so how much the care of my clients means to me. I've put in a lot of work over the course of my career to provide a trauma-informed, gender-affirming, safe, and silly space for everyone who lands in my chair to feel free to be themselves! It's always more than just a haircut.

At home, I am a mother of a 10-year-old boy and a 2-year-old little girl, married to a wonderful husband, and we have a cat and a dog! We live right in Hampden and are active members of our community however we can be!

Unfortunately, I am experiencing extreme carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my wrists and hands due to my career and will be (thankfully) getting surgery in early February. From everything I've learned about this surgery, after recovery, I will be returning with full function and zero pain! This surgery will put me out of work for 6-8 weeks without pay. As I'm sure most of you understand, losing an income for that time will be financially devastating for my family.

So, I am reaching out to my community and asking for help! I am hoping to raise 5000 dollars to help support my family, pay for extra childcare costs I will need for at-home recovery support while my husband works, and most importantly, to help me with peace of mind during recovery so I can return to my career and passions all healed up and ready to go.
