Hello friends,
I have seen our communities rally around a lot of families with children in need. It's very heartwarming to see. I am the grandmother of Ethan Farley. He is nine years old and has been through so much. He has Goldenhar syndrome, quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy, chronic encephalopathy, chronic lung disease, and believe it or not, the list continues. At age 2, he underwent open-heart surgery to repair an atrial septal defect. He has a G-tube for supplementary feeds and a baclofen pump. He's had multiple ear tubes and is 8 days post-op from a spine surgery where rods were placed to straighten him from an 80% curvature. Through all of this, Ethan has remained a happy boy. He is non-verbal and requires total care.
With this latest surgery, our family needs all new medical equipment to include a special needs stroller, a special seat for sitting and eating, a wheelchair, and a special needs car seat for taller kids. Insurance is very fickle and will only cover one dang thing at a time, which leaves his mom, who is blind, to determine what's most important. I'm humbly asking for our community to come together and help.
