Our hearts are heavy as we share that on Thursday, June 12, 2025, our lives were forever changed. What started as a routine day for my mom, Andrea Rodriguez, ended up in a medical emergency that left her in the ICU with meningitis, where she continues to be, and with a long road to recovery.

She is a beloved mother, daughter, friend, educator, and community member. She is someone who leaves permanent marks on people’s lives and souls because of her radiant energy and overly compassionate and thoughtful heart. She is silly and playful and hilarious and insightful and she shows up for others without hesitation, but struggles to ask for help when she needs it. However, as a single mom working two jobs, she needs your support, and for the universe to pour back all the love she’s put out into this world. Between childcare for her younger son, housing, bills, transportation, medical expenses and time away from work, the financial strain has become immense.

We are asking for community care and help with raising money to cover these bills and essential expenses. This will allow her to heal without the added burden of financial stress. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to lifting some of the weight off her shoulders and her family’s shoulders who have all stepped in (even from out of state!) to take care of everything for her while she recovers.
