It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic news of the passing of Chandira Lakruwan Abhayarathna, a Sri Lankan student living in Brisbane, who lost his life in a road accident last week. Chandira was a close family member of our own community member, Niraj Karaiyawasam.

Niraj and Neranja together with family and friends, are making arrangements to repatriate Chanddira’s body to Sri Lanka so he can be laid to rest in his homeland. According to the quotation from Funeral Services, the cost of repatriation is $11000.

We are launching this fundraising campaign to humbly appeal to our community to come together and help raise the necessary funds.

We, Darshika Koggalahewa and Thisara Pathirannehelage, are organising this fundraiser on behalf of our close friend, Niraj Kariyawasam. As noted, Chandira is Niraj’s nephew. The fundraiser is directly linked to Niraj’s account, and all funds raised will be used to cover the repatriation costs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chanddira’s family during this difficult time.

නිරාජ් සහ නේරංජා, පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන් හා මිතුරන් සමඟ එක්ව චන්දීරගේ දේහය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට රැගෙන යාම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු සූදානම් කරමින් සිටින අතර මේ සඳහා ඔස්ට්‍රේලියානු ඩොලර් 11,000 පමණ මුදලක් වැයවන බවට ඒ පිළිබඳව කටයුතු සම්පාදනය කරන ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු අවමංගල්‍ය ආයතනය විසින් දැනුම් දී තිබේ.

බ්‍රිස්බේන් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාවේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් කෙරෙන, මේ සඳහා අවශ්‍ය අරමුදල් රැස්කිරීමේ ප්‍රජා සද්කාර්යයට දායක වන මෙන් ඔබ සැමගෙන් කාරුණිකව ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.

චන්දීරගේ පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන් වෙත අපගේ සාතිශය සංවේගය පළකර සිටින අතර අකල්හි අප අතරින් වියෝ වූ චන්දීරට නිවන් සුව ප්‍රාර්ථනා කර සිටිමු.
