Community and environmental projects in Ecuador
Donation protected
Hi , I am Andrew, I am asking for support to participate in a Camps International trek to Ecuador. This adventure project involves me getting first-hand experience of the issues faced by rural communities in Ecuador whilst making a positive and lasting impact. As part of a team I will contribute to ongoing sustainable projects that help support communities and protect the biodiverse environment in this amazing country.
This will include a journey into the Amazon and working with local communities to improve basic health and welfare, increase food and water security, and improve educational facilities.
This trip is important to be as a person too. As a toddler I was taken into care, until my adpotion at the age of 4. Going on this trip will help show far you can come if you try hard, and are committed to doing something , even if you haven’t had the best start in life. Sometimes the bad things that happen in your life, if they don’t defeat you, can make you stronger.
I want to do this trip, as I want to learn about different cultures and immerse myself in a completely different world, away from my day to day life. I think it will be interesting and challenge me to meet new people, learn new skills and languages and to experience a new culture.
It is great mix of physical and mental challenges, trekking at altitude, wild camping, and physical labour. We will also be making a difference to others, including community projects and learning about biodiversity and the environment in a tropical area on the equator.
With your help, I will develop my team skills, communication skills and I will be learning daily. These lessons and memories will last a lifetime. Thank you.
