On behalf of the crew of the FV Valor III from Newport Oregon that sank suddenly on December 14th, 2025. The crew Gary Davis and Captain Robert Clark have been fishing since their childhood and driving boats, working seasons in AK and OR since they were as young as 14. The boat was under routinely maintenance, given great care and in good working order up until this sudden random disaster. The incident was completely unexpected, especially after an amazing opening day the very day before with spirits high and all hands on deck. The Captain and Crew are alive but may need support financially in the coming weeks. One thing about anyone working on deck of a crab boat, they are not one to ask for a handout. Anything you give will be greatly appreciated and reciprocated in ways only a community as special as ours can understand. We thank everyone for there support in all ways and words of admiration in these dark days.
