Hey y'all! I'm Cherry, I'm a community member of Seattle that does a lot of food distribution in Capitol Hill. The project I'm a part of dumpster dives most of our food, and since Blazing Bagels has been such a huge bagel supply for our share, I was pretty sad to hear the news of their closing. Especially that they failed to give their employees any kind of adequate notice. I am not an employee myself, but in online communities I have seen employees worry for themselves and their coworkers' ability to pay rent and avoid becoming homeless.

It is important that during this time the employees of Blazing Bagels are able to receive aid from others, and that we establish some community resilience to bullshit corporate decisions like this. WE KEEP US SAFE.

Please consider donating to this cause <3 I will be handing out free bagels (yes, that I have dumpster dived from Blazing Bagels - these are the last of their kind! lol) at the Capitol Hill Farmers Market today, and maybe Tuesday.

1. I am related to the recipient of the donations because the bagels they made, I gave out at a grocery share.

2. My transfer plan is to transfer the money directly to employees that indicate a need to pay their April rent. I am in contact with a store manager to figure out which employees need that assistance. If no employees indicate a need to help pay April rent, I will split the total proceeds among Blazing Bagels Redmond staff (sorry, I have to pick one, and those are the folks who made the bagels).

3. The funds will be spent by these employees as they wish, whether to pay for rent, food, or other items to tide them over before they can find new work.
