Dear friends and supporters,

On January 24, 2026, while out with friends in Berkeley, I fainted and fell hard onto the sidewalk. I suffered a head injury, a concussion, and a seizure. I woke up in the ambulance on the way to the hospital—and seven hours later, I walked out. I’m deeply grateful I didn’t need brain surgery.

Here’s the hard part to share: in January 2026, I had to go without health insurance—and I’m still uninsured. I run a nonprofit in Monterey, California called Breakthrough Men’s Community, a labor of love devoted to helping men heal and grow. The organization can’t provide health insurance, and when my Covered California premium jumped 465%, I simply couldn’t afford it. I took a calculated risk—and it didn’t work out.

The hospital bill is about $65,000. My out-of-pocket responsibility is $35,000—and I can’t cover that without doing real damage to my financial future.

For the past eight years, I’ve poured my heart into serving others—helping people move through old wounds and into wholeness. Now I’m on the other side of that equation, needing to receive the care and support I’ve always encouraged in others.

I’m asking for your help to raise funds I can apply toward these medical expenses (if possible, to cover the full amount). Any contribution, no matter the size, helps. And if you can’t give, sharing this campaign is a powerful way to support me.
