Times have been tough, to say the least. Asking for assistance isn’t something that I have ever desired to do; I have always been able to stretch whatever it is I have for my immediate needs when necessary. My family and friends have helped me tremendously in times of struggle. And yet, with some major set backs over the last two months, I am finally admitting my need of community support.
I am a school teacher. I go to the food bank regularly + get food deliveries from caring friends. I live off grid and have cut expenses down to the bare minimum. My teachers salary has been just enough to cover bills, student loans, debts, and gas—I drive 2 hours for work each day— but I have never quite been able to save enough to get beyond the paycheck to paycheck hustle.
Currently, I am behind on my mortgage and am in dire need of brakes + registration for my car. My family and friends have helped when they can, but their resources are also limited. Continuing to drive an unsafe car long distances in the winter months, and being at risk of falling more than two months behind on mortgage payments, I am asking for your support.
Anything you are willing to donate to help me get through this rough patch is tremendous. I am hoping to raise $2,000 ( my brakes (and rotors) have been quoted to be $800-1000 and my mortgage is $1090).
Of course, I am offering to work in exchange of funds. If you or anyone you know have any projects that you need help with or have any interest in getting a weird comic sketch of yourself in the mail, these are things I can offer.
Thank you
