Communication Tools for Ventilator Patients

Hi Everybody! After a week of testing the Vocable AAC app, which allows ventilator patients to use simple head/eye gestures to communicate with hospital staff and loved ones, I'm raising money to purchase 25 iPad Pros (and stands) so that we can deliver them for the entire unit. As I'm sure we can all imagine, being on a ventilator and losing the ability to use your voice - especially while in the difficult position of fighting COVID-19 - is a terrifying prospect, and the tools available (typically a whiteboard and a marker) simply aren't useable/useful for many of the patients. The most afforable iPad Pro (sold refurbished by Apple) is $585, and each stand (so that the iPads can be properly positioned below the patients) is $35, so I'm looking to raise $15,000. I've reached out to Apple to try to have these units donated, but no luck so far. My partner, Brigid Sullivan, works on this unit at the hospital.
