Commemorate Angel Nevarez: Community Memorial

Members of Rancho Palos Verdes have lost a dear friend and member of our community. Angel Nevarez was a man that, through his actions, generosity, and thoughtfulness, made everyone around him feel like a part of his family. Through many conversations I had with Angel, he expressed that his main reason for his family moving to RPV was to feel like a part of a community. Whether it was during a cookout in your backyard, driving the kids to summer camp, or cheering on Joaquin and Lorenzo during baseball or soccer, Angel exemplified what it means to belong to a neighborhood and enrich the lives of those around him. As a loving husband and father, Angel showed everyone what it meant to be a family man.

It is with this in mind that Natalie and I are working to raise funds to establish a memorial on the grounds of Point Vicente Elementary to ensure that Angel will forever be a part of the RPV community. The goal is to purchase a bench with a plaque commemorating Angel's love for this community along with a few trees so that his memory will live on in our neighborhood. We are asking for the RPV community to assist in these efforts by donating whatever you can, be it funds, materials, or even your time to prepare the site, or help plant trees once purchased.

Our hope is that this dedication would make Angel smile, as well as serve as a reminder to his family, Angela, Joaquin, and Lorenzo that Angel was a friend, neighbor, and valued member of our community and that his memory will forever be a part of it.
