Hello Family, friends, Famoe.ly, and friends of friends! Sarah here
Hey guys,
The RN that took care of me suggested I ask for help, so here I am.
As some of you know, I was rushed to the ER & hospitalized for quite some time due to a rapidly moving and deadly infection to my large intestine+.
I am truly lucky to still have my life, as enlightened by the infectious disease doctor that worked with me throughout my stay.
This infection was not treatable by antibiotics, and was extremely painful. I’ve spoken with countless hospital staff as well as a caseworker who is currently working with me and in touch with the FDA to try make sure that this happens to no one else or ever again if at all possible.
Now that I’m finally home and on the mend, while trying to painstakingly make an effort to move back into my daily schedule, I’m quite stressed as the bills begin to pile in as I work with insurance & charity.
Simply put my friends- I just can’t wait for a full recovery, I need to get back to work as I get to 100%.
Alas, just prior, I had lost my medical insurance coverage.
This is a big hit to the chest.
I work full-time in the service industry, at a wonderful establishment as a bartender/server. As many of you in the industry know, it’s actually pretty difficult finding a decent insurance plan (which is a bit comical, once you get over the shock value of that statement that we all make ’too much’). This is leaving me with nothing currently as I continue my tireless search for a plan that fits, given the road ahead. A small fortune of medical bills, rent, therapy, and follow-up appointments await me in the meantime as I speak with hospital charities in good faith that they can hopefully provide me with some relief.
So, to my family, friends, and famoe.ly, I came here to ask for help as I continually navigate the future on my own. There is no such thing as “too little”; every dollar means something and helps me immensely.
All funds will go to helping me get by, my medical expenses, follow up appointments and more tests to come.
I know there are others close to home that are currently dealing with very serious conditions, so to that I say- if you’ve helped others and can’t donate at the moment, I understand, wholeheartedly. Feel free to share to anyone who may be able to help.
Lastly, I send all my love, well wishes, and good health to each and every one of you reading this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that visited, prayed,
reached out, shared your kind words, donated and for taking the time out of your day to read this far. I am grateful, beyond words.
Love always, Sarah ♥️
