Help Honor Tylen "Ty" Valandra
On behalf of the Valandra family, we are asking our relatives, friends, neighbors, and all those whose lives were touched by Tylen "Ty" Valandra to come together during this heartbreaking time.
Ty was deeply loved. His smile, kindness, laughter, and the way he treated others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. The incredible outpouring of love shown during his candlelight vigil made one thing very clear: Ty meant so much to so many people.
As Lakota people, we honor our loved ones by coming together as a community. Ty will be honored with three days of traditional wake services, followed by his funeral on the fourth day. The family is expecting thousands of relatives, friends, classmates, teammates, and community members to come and pay their respects.
In our Lakota way of life, no one should leave hungry. The family wishes to provide meals, coffee, water, and refreshments for everyone who comes to honor Ty's memory. Along with food, there are many other funeral and wake expenses that quickly add up, including supplies, transportation, and other costs associated with hosting several days of services.
We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden on the family so they can focus on what matters most—honoring Ty and spending time together in prayer, remembrance, and healing.
Every gift, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
Funeral expenses
Three days of wake expenses
Meals and refreshments for those attending
Kitchen supplies and serving materials
Other costs associated with honoring Ty's life
If you are unable to donate, you can still make a tremendous difference by sharing this fundraiser and keeping the Valandra family in your thoughts and prayers.
The Valandra family is overwhelmed by the love and support already shown by our communities. Your generosity will help ensure that Ty receives the beautiful farewell he deserves and that everyone who comes to honor him is welcomed in the spirit of Lakota hospitality.
Pilamayaye (Thank you) for standing with the Valandra family during this difficult time.
