In Loving Memory of Rich Leighton

In loving memory of Rich Leighton, his colleagues and friends have come together to support the family he loved so deeply.

On Saturday, March 14, Rich passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving our entire school community heartbroken. For 20 years, he served the Cliffside Park School District as a World Language teacher, working with both students and members of our adult community. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication.

Rich leaves behind his wife, Liz, and their two children, Mary and Henry. His sudden passing has left them facing unimaginable grief, along with the loss of his love, guidance, and support. Liz is now navigating the overwhelming responsibility of raising their children and planning for their future during this incredibly difficult time.

We are asking our community to come together to support Liz and the children. Any contribution—no matter the amount—will help ease the financial burden and allow the family the time and space to grieve and heal.
