Another tragedy has struck the Montana bar community.
Shane Charles, owner of a small bar in Anaconda, was tragically shot and killed. In an instant, a family lost a loved one, employees lost their employer and job, and a community lost someone who mattered deeply to the people around him.
While we cannot change the events that unfolded, we can come together to support those left behind.
Anyone who has worked in this industry understands that bars are more than businesses. They are gathering places. They are where friendships are formed, celebrations are shared, and communities are built. Behind every small-town bar is a person carrying the weight of payroll, bills, responsibilities, and the hopes of the people who depend on them.
Today, Shane’s family and employees are facing an unimaginable loss.
This fundraiser has been created to help ease some of the financial burden during an already devastating time. Funds raised will go directly toward supporting Shane’s family and assisting the employees whose livelihoods have been impacted by this tragedy.
Montana has always been a place where people show up for one another. When hardship strikes, neighbors become family, strangers become friends, and communities rally together to carry those who cannot carry themselves.
Whether you are able to donate $5 or $500, every contribution matters. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is equally appreciated.
We may not be able to change what happened, but together we can alchemize grief into action, heartbreak into compassion, and loss into a powerful reminder that no one has to walk through tragedy alone.
Thank you for helping us honor Shane’s memory by supporting the people he loved and the community he helped build.
