This holiday season, our friend and former colleague Sam Legate is facing an unexpected and difficult challenge. Many of us remember Sam not only for his hard work and dedication, but for his kindness, humor, and the way he always supported those around him. Recently, Sam took a leap into a new opportunity after leaving Gerdau—but through no fault of his own, that job suddenly ended. Now, just weeks before Christmas, he’s left without a source of income and carrying the weight of providing for his family during what should be a joyful time of year.

We all know that Sam is resilient and will absolutely land on his feet—he’s proven that time and time again. But right now, we want to ensure he can focus on enjoying the holidays with his family rather than worrying about the basics during this unexpected setback.

We’re coming together as friends, coworkers, and community members to support Sam and help ensure his kids still experience the warmth and magic of the season.
