It is with very heavy hearts that we share some incredibly sad news. On Saturday night, we unexpectedly lost one of our amazing young referees, Mario Rojas.

Mario was more than just a referee. He was a coach, a mentor, and a valued part of our El Campo Youth Soccer League family for several years. He gave his time, energy, and heart to our kids and our community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

This loss is especially heartbreaking as Mario and his family were preparing to welcome a new baby next month. In fact, they were holding a baby shower on Sunday to celebrate this new chapter in their lives.

We do not yet have details regarding funeral arrangements, but we will share information as soon as it becomes available. Our league will also be organizing ways to support his family financially during this difficult time.
