As many of you may have heard, Maria suffered an unimaginable loss on December 10th. That morning, her husband dropped her off at work like he did almost every day. They said their goodbyes, their “I love yous,” and he headed home to pick up their youngest son to take him to school. Around 8:45 AM, Maria learned through a news outlet that he had been in a car accident. She was picked up from work and brought home to speak with the police — a moment no one should ever have to face.

If you’ve ever worked with Maria as a CNA, and most of us have because she is always willing to help anywhere she’s needed, you know the kind of person she is. She is incredibly hardworking, kind, and dedicated. She is an amazing wife, mother, friend, and teammate. Her patients love her, her coworkers adore her, and she shows up every day with a smile, even when she’s exhausted. She gives 1000%, takes care of her kids, her parents, and has always been the backbone of her household. She helps others without hesitation or expectation.

Death is always difficult, but the sudden loss of a loved one is especially devastating. On top of her grief, their only car was totaled in the accident. Maria is now facing unexpected financial burdens, including hospital bills, funeral expenses, and more.
