On Sunday, July 14, Kelly's husband Anthony passed away suddenly. Many of you know that Anthony dealt with significant health challenges over the last decade. This past year was particularly brutal. Anthony had numerous hospitalizations and stays in skilled nursing facilities, all of which took a significant financial toll on Kelly.

How Kelly's giant heart fits into that tiny frame, I'll never understand. Over the years I have watched her show up, care for, support, carry (me, literally!), and give ferociously to her friends and those she hardly knows. If a heart could be woven of kindness and light, Kelly's most assuredly would be.

My hope with this fundraiser is to ease Kelly's financial burden as she navigates the uncertain days ahead and to help cover some of the medical debt left in Anthony's absence. All funds raised beyond our goal will go toward installing a heating system in her home – a small way to make life a little more comfortable for her this winter.
