Hello friends and members of the Siouxland community,

It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to ask for your help and support for our dear friend, Gayle Kirkpatrick, following the recent passing of her beloved husband, Mark Kirkpatrick. Mark passed away on December 9, 2025, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with ALS.

Mark was well known and deeply respected for his 32-year career with the Sioux City Police Department, where he served with honor and dedication, retiring as a Captain in 2023. He was diagnosed with ALS in January 2024 and faced his illness with incredible strength, bravery, and resilience.

Gayle and their children are now facing an unimaginable loss and are in need of our support as they navigate this difficult time. We are hoping to raise funds to help with medical expenses, burial arrangements, and other related costs.
