Hi everyone! I wanted to share some information about a dear friend of mine, and possibly, one of yours as well. His name is Cory.

I first met Cory while working at KFC. Cory started as an employee, but quickly also became a good friend. For those of you that don’t know him, Cory is one of those guys that just lights up the room as soon as he walks in. He has the most contagious laughter and smile. He has the biggest heart and most positive attitude of anybody I know. Cory made coming to work every day a joy, and I truly appreciated him for the work that he did and for the friend that he is. He was always willing to help others, and now, he needs our help.

A few years ago, I found out that Cory was homeless. It wasn’t until recently that I have been able to reconnect with him and find out what happened. Cory told me that since he moved out of his last apartment 5 years ago, he has not been able to rent another apartment for various reasons beyond his control. Eventually, he started living in a tent. He tried using government assisted programs to help him secure housing, but has had no success. I am trying to fundraise for Cory so we can first, get him off the streets, and then, help him move toward finding permanent housing.

Please know that Cory and I appreciate any support that you can contribute. Every little bit helps. I know it’s been a tough couple of years for all of us, but no harder than it has been for Cory. Nobody deserves to be out on the streets, especially a good hearted and caring person like Cory. You can make a difference…we all can make a difference and help a friend in need. We will be forever grateful to you for helping Cory have an opportunity to get back on his feet.
