Coming together for Caden

(See Cadens story from Lauren below)

As most of you know, our little Caden, and his family, are through a rough time. Lauren has posted a couple status’ on Facebook describing what is going on and any updates they get. While they are in the hospital every day and night with Caden, his immediate families have all been fortunate enough to help anyway we can. Lauren, Michael, and even their families have had many people reaching out asking how they can help. We figured this would be the best way to help them while they help Caden.

The medical bills for this are going to be quite a lot on top of the money they are currently spending for gas, food, parking, hotels, and other things they need while away from home. Their house is an hour away from the hospital so is difficult to utilize anything there. Also unfortunately Lauren is having to take an unpaid leave from work for this. So any donations made would go towards helping this family with anything they need at the moment and moving forward. Thank you all for reaching out, the offers to help, and the positive thoughts and prayers for their family.

“Today, being a parent sucks. Today, watching my youngest go through what he is going through sucks. Today, we found out Caden (10 months) is having some difficulties.

But today is where we find strength in ourselves that we didn’t know we had. Today is where we fight as a family. Today is where I ask everyone for prayers and positive vibes.

To fill everyone in…
on Tuesday this last week, Michael, Carter, and Caden were watching a movie in the living room while I was at work. Caden all of a sudden went limp and unresponsive. Michael picked him up, and he was breathing but wasn’t right and his eyes rolled in to the back of his head. He called 911 and was brought via ambulance to my work. I was able to meet them downstairs and be with caden and michael the whole time. they monitored him and after while felt comfortable sending him home. about 36 hours after that event, on Thursday, Caden was sleeping in his crib about two hours later than he normally does. I felt like something was wrong so I went and checked on him. He had left-sided weakness and was not acting normal so I brought him to the ER again. The ER said he looks fine and sent us home. In my mom heart I didn’t feel that that was right so we brought him to children’s in Saint Paul. They wanted to monitor him overnight and do an EEG and then they did an MRI this morning. We were informed a couple hours ago that the MRI did in fact show some neurological vein/artery problems that could have cause some stroke episodes(still waiting on that to be confirmed with the MRI). We were then moved to the PICU and he is being monitored closely. He’s going to have another MRI tomorrow and we will know where to go from there. I don’t have much more information right now because I am pretty overwhelmed with everything. I promise I will try to keep everybody as updated as I can and I appreciate anyone who has reached out.

I can’t thank carter and Cadens grandparents enough through all of this. Always there to step in and help.”
