Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of Ben Sholes, an amazing man who meant so much to so many of us.

Ben was the kind of person who opened his door to anyone, made people laugh, and made everyone feel welcome. Together, Ben and Stephanie created a home where people gathered- whether it was taking friends out on their boat, cracking open a beer, firing up Ben’s homemade meat smoker to share a meal, or lighting a fire in their beautiful backyard for everyone to sit around. They loved bringing people together and creating moments that felt fun, loving, and full of life.

So many of us came together while Ben was here- around their table, in their backyard oasis, at the lake, and in everyday moments that turned into amazing memories. Now, we have the opportunity to come together again, this time to support the people he loved most.

Ben leaves behind his wife, Stephanie, and their children- Taya (19), Tyler (17), and Tatum (11)- who now must learn to navigate life without him. While nothing can ease the pain of losing Ben, we can come together to support these four special people in meaningful and practical ways.

This GoFundMe is being organized to help cover immediate and ongoing expenses as the family adjusts to this new reality. Every donation, no matter the size, is a tangible way to show them they are not alone and that they are surrounded by people who care about them.
