Hi - I'm Beth Van Zee, a realtor in the Des Moines Metro in Iowa. I have phenomenal clients - two hardworking parents and two boys. They will be closing on their home next week. Today, as I was following up to be sure everything was on schedule, I received this response..."Beth- we had a very unfortunate turn of events happen yesterday with (their son). We are currently down at Blank (hospital). He was diagnosed this morning with acute leukemia type B. We will for sure be in the hospital for the remainder of this week/weekend. We need to limit exposures as he is severely compromised, and also covid positive. We are trying to work out the details as far as getting some extended help to help with the move. But he is going to need one of us with him. Not sure.... what life will be like by next Monday for us. I can plan to stay in touch with you."
My heart broke for them, and I reached out, asking permission to just "handle everything," so that they could spend their time and energies where needed most. I said that there are enough kind souls on this earth to donate, to pay to get everything moved, unpacked, and disinfected while they were at the hospital. Even if you could give just a bit, we can make this beautiful Iowa family's life a little less stressful during a very uncertain time. We now have a quote from Adamantine Movers and they will start packing Monday. I so appreciate anything you can give, and will share your names with the family, as I know they will be beyond grateful. I'm hopeful I can get enough money to get this done for them by February 8. Thank you so much.
