Comfort Jesi as we search for relief and answers.

Nearly 7 years ago, in early 2013, Jesi developed a headache that has not gone away. After months of multiple doctors, specialists, and numerous testing, a rare cyst/tumor was discovered in the left petrous apex of her brain called a Cholesterol Granuloma. She has underwent three brain surgeries, in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Each surgery gave minor relief for a short period of time but never gave total relief. Soon after, the pain would increase and numerous neurological symptoms began to present.

Over the past three years Jesi has only “managed “ her pain and multiplying symptoms. She has tried numerous procedures and medications but nothing has worked. After escalating and serious symptoms presented during the summer of 2018, her family researched and found a specialist in New York that dealt with complex cases. After reviewing her case, he agreed to treat her.

Jesi suffers from Spontaneous Cerebral Spinal Fluid Leaks, a condition called Intracranial HYPOtension, while also having Intracranial HYPERtension. She also suffers from a genetic connective tissue disorder which comprises the dura that protects her spinal cord and brain. While on this journey she has been diagnosed with numerous other serious conditions that cause complications in her treatments.

While in New York, things haven’t gone as planned and her treatment is lasting much longer than expected. Jesi is a High School Algebra teacher and has run out of allotted paid absences. She has no disability coverage to help ease the financial burden. The cost of the trip to New York for treatment and missing work is adding up. Her bills still need to get paid as well as her insurance premiums. Jesi has a lifetime of health issues ahead of her and any assistance to help cover the costs of treatments and bills is greatly appreciated.
