We are reaching out today with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our beloved Gonzalo Blanco, my dad. He has been bravely battling gastric cancer for 10 months, and we recently received the devastating news that his cancer is terminal. The doctors have given him a prognosis of less than a year, and our greatest wish is to ensure he can live his remaining days with as much comfort, peace, and dignity as possible.

Gonzalo is a loving parent, a cherished friend, full of joy. Before this diagnosis, he loved fishing, joking, and spending time with his friends and family. This journey has been incredibly difficult, not just emotionally and physically, but also financially.

The Financial Burden We Face

Terminal illness brings with it immense unforeseen costs even with insurance. We are trying to alleviate the financial stress so Gonzalo can focus on spending quality time with loved ones and fulfilling any final wishes.

* In-Home Care/Hospice Support: As Gonzalo’s condition progresses, we anticipate needing professional in-home care or hospice services to ensure he receives round-the-clock comfort and support.

* Comfort and Quality of Life: We want to provide Gonzalo with small comforts and experiences that will bring joy in these final months. This might include comfortable recliners, special dietary needs, a final trip to a beloved place, and help with daily chores so he can rest.

* Essential Living Expenses: With Gonzalo unable to work, we are struggling to cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, and groceries.

* Future Planning: Funds will also contribute to future memorial and end-of-life arrangements to ease the burden on the family.
