❤Comfort for Lauren❤

Lauren Fanning,
a beloved wife, stepmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, devoted daughter and dear friend was diagnosed with cancer on February 12th, 2021. Although she was already battling chrones disease, an autoimmune disease, she is also struggling with her battle with cancer and can no longer continue chemotherapy.

Lauren has always been a caring individual who advocated for the people in need around her. She was a medical social worker for over 40 years. In fact, Lauren helped start the first hospice program in the Oregon prison system, worked to help people affected by HIV/AIDS and was an HIV/AIDS decriminalization advocate. At one point she took on the difficult task of informing patients of their HIV test results and helping them find care.

Aside from her passion for her work she is an avid animal and nature lover who loves music, culture and her friends & family. She is a beautiful individual and deserves to be comfortable, surrounded by loved ones and cared for in her final days just as she has cared for so many others.

Unfortunately Lauren does not qualify for a lot financial aid to assist in paying for hospice and the hospital will not allow more than 4 hours a week of visitation and will not allow her to be in comfort care for an indefinite amount of time.

Please help us as we try to ensure she is comfortable and cared for in a welcoming environment and not left as a secluded hospital patient as we help her in this next step. The money gathered from this fundraiser will go directly to her husband Jim and will be used to provide care and propper housing for Lauren.
