Hi! This is Keewon’s parents, Astin and Kat,

Keewon just had an accident leaving one of his rear hocks (the flat side of his foot) completely shattered.

We had to make the very difficult decision to have his right rear foot amputated as the doctor said the severity of the injury likely wouldn’t be repaired by just surgery.

The cost of animal care alone in Hawaii is expensive. But with Keewon being a rabbit, he falls into the “exotic pet” category. He will also require medicine after his amputation to ensure his comfort and healing when he comes back home.

if you know us well enough, you know that we love him so much and want to make sure he’s given everything he needs to be comfortable and taken care of.
