As many of you know, my mother is in an assisted living center. She has been here for the last year and a half. Mentally my mother is amazing, physically she is struggling and therefore needed 247 care. If you know my mom she sacrificed her entire life to people other than herself. She would be the first one to give you the last penny she had in her pocket. Sadly she did not work for most of her life and only has her disability to pay for her living. That is not a lot, and it takes all she has.
I am asking for donations to get my mother during Covid and beyond(one year) her own bedroom at her facility. She is now sharing a room, which is divided by a hanging drape. They share a bathroom and her room is so small it's hard for her to even turn around and move safely in. Her own room would allow her to move easier and safer, it would give her the privacy of her own bathroom and overall wellbeing, as these single rooms usually have a nicer view outside and allow the patients to feel more at home.
My mother is my entire world and life. When I say she's a walking angel on earth I mean that with every ounce of my soul. I wish my teaching salary would allow me to pay for this on my own but sadly it does not... I know how precious everyone's money is right now and any donation will mean the world to myself and my mother. She does not know I am doing this because I want to surprise her
hopefully one day soon, with the chance to feel more at home in a place that feels so clinical and confined. My mom has laid in her bed most of the time since Covid hit early March. Giving her the space to move safely would create her body to gain more strength and mobility especially during these uncertain times and shut downs that keep occuring at her center. Knowing she would have her own room would give such a sense of peace and gratitude, I could write a novel just about that alone. I hope to raise this money as soon as possible before the holidays especially as that would be the greatest gift I could ever give her.
