Early October, Matt noticed a lump on his neck while shaving. A few weeks later biopsy results revealed that this lump was melanoma. A PET scan showed that this aggressive cancer has already spread to his lungs, liver, kidneys, colon, lymph nodes, and spine. This was obviously devastating news. Matt is scheduled for a CT Guided Lung Biopsy on November 14th to confirm that it is in fact Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.

Matt Comfort has been married to Marcelle Comfort for 10 years. They have 2 beautiful daughters that are the focal point of their lives. After high school, Matt joined the USMC. During his time as a Marine, he served 2 tours in Iraq. During those tours, he may have been exposed to harmful carcinogens that might have expedited his disease.

This news has shocked the Comfort family. They have been spending most days at the VA Hospital visiting multiple specialists. Matt has been through a tremendous amount of testing, and this is just the beginning. He has been approved by the VA to travel to Houston for 3-4 weeks for further treatment.
