With October right around the corner, I am blessed to see another year of life, and every year I celebrate my birthday by giving back to the men, women, and children who are battling cancer. Having personally been affected by this disease with the loss of my mother, I decided to create a foundation in her honor.

My family and I create care packages for patients who are in need of a pick-me-up, a new book to read, a cozy blanket, or just a reminder that they can win this fight. I've experienced firsthand the profound impact that even the smallest gesture can have on someone battling cancer. So many of our friends and family members have been affected by this terrible disease, and no one should feel that they are doing it alone.

Please help us follow through on our promise to raise money for care packages to be hand-picked and delivered to patients at Sentara Hospitals. In addition, a portion of the funds will be donated to the Sentara Cancer Mission Fund- a program created to assist patients and their families with the cost of medications, transportation, supplies, etc.
