Nearly 5½ years ago, my sister, Jen, Carlsen, was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. Since that day, she has faced every challenge with incredible courage, determination, and hope.
Jen never stopped fighting. She endured countless rounds of chemotherapy, appointments, surgeries, scans, and treatments. She searched for every possible option, including clinical trials, hoping for more time. She gave this battle everything she had.
Unfortunately, despite her relentless fight, the cancer continued to progress. The pain has become severe, and the physical toll has become more than anyone should have to endure.
With the love and support of her family and medical team, Jen has made the heartbreaking decision to stop chemotherapy and begin hospice care. This is not giving up—it is choosing comfort, peace, and dignity after fighting with everything she had for nearly five and a half years.
Because she can no longer work, we are asking for help to ease the financial burden so she can spend her remaining time focusing on what matters most: being with the people she loves, free from the stress of bills and daily expenses.
Your donations will help with:
- Lost income after leaving work
- Household and living expenses
- Medical and hospice-related costs not covered by insurance
- Medications, comfort care, and other essential needs
If you are able to donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing Jen's story and keeping her and our family in your prayers.
Jen has fought with extraordinary strength, courage, and grace for nearly 5½ years. Now, our hope is to surround her with the same love and compassion she has shown throughout her life.
Thank you for helping us give Jen the comfort, dignity, and peace she so deeply deserves.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Laura Grimes and Family
