Comfort and medical attention for Felipe

Hello friends and family,

My grandfather Felipe “Pipe”, a loving and caring father, grandfather, and loved one was unexpectedly involved in a terrible car accident this past Friday, January 26th that has threatened his safety and health. My family and I are fighting like crazy to get him the best medical treatment during this time. As a result of the accident, both of my grandparents have received injuries that need immediate attention. My grandfather Felipe has multiple injuries including cervical (neck) fractures in his C1 through C7 and Atelactasis diagnosis (part of his lung has collapsed).

Given his recent and unexpected injuries/diagnosis, my family and I have decided to create a fundraiser to help aid in covering his medical expenses due to the advanced treatment he is requiring. Keeping him in PR is not a considerable option, as the medical system in the island is antiquated and the resources available are little to none. Our overall goal is to comfort and provide the care my grandpa needs such as in-home services, monitoring devices, and air ambulance transport that is greatly needed during this difficult time for our family. My hope with creating this GoFundMe is to ease the financial burden it has caused them and our family and give him a chance to recuperate from his injuries, to spend time with his loving children and grandchildren at home.

All funds raised will solely provide the best care and necessary devices needed for his care in his delicate stage. Anything from prayers, thoughts, sharing this post to help spread the word, and donations will be greatly appreciated.

Queridos amigos y familiares,

Mi abuelo Felipe un excelente padre, abuelo, y familiar… mejor conocido como “Pipe”. Desafortunadamente estuvo involucrado en un devastador accidente automovilístico este pasado Viernes, 26 de Enero y ha comprometido su seguridad y salud. Mi familia al igual que yo, estamos luchando mas que nunca para poder darle la mejor atención médica que mi abuelo necesita en estos momentos. Como resultado del accidente, ambos mi abuela y abuelo han obtenido lesiones que necesitan atención inmediata. Mi abuelo Felipe en especial, ha recibido múltiples lesiones incluyendo varias fracturas cervicales (área del cuello) que han comprometido sus vertebras C1 a la C7, y un diagnóstico de Atelactasis (parte de uno de sus pulmones está colapsando).

Dado éste inesperado diagnóstico y lesiones, yo y mi familia hemos tomado la decisión de crear un fundraiser para ayudar a costear el tratamiento médico, ya que los tratamientos requeridos son avanzados y muy costosos. Mantener a mi abuelo en Puerto Rico no es una opción considerable ya que el sistema médico que se le ha provisto es muy anticuado y los recursos necesarios son casi ninguno. Nuestra meta para esta recolecta, es aliviar y proveer el cuidado que mi abuelo necesita como servicios médicos en casa, máquinas de monitoreo, y el transporte ambulatorio por aire durante estos momentos difíciles. Mi esperanza para este GoFundMe es poder aliviar la carga financiera inesperada que le ha causado a mis abuelos y a sus hijos (mis tíos y madre incluida), y así darle una oportunidad de recuperar de sus lesiones para poder pasar tiempo de calidad con sus amados hijos y nietos.

Todos los fondos recolectados serán únicamente para proveer el mejor cuidado médico necesario para mi abuelo. Cualquier ayuda desde orar por nuestra familia y su salud, compartir esta recolecta con amigos y familiares para regar la voz, y cualquier tipo de donación serán grandemente agradecido.
