Hello everyone,

As some of you may know, our dear friend Brenda Thornton, has been diagnosed with stage four cancer. She is receiving treatments to help her comfort level, but her treatments will be coming to an end soon and after that, she will be receiving palliative care. I would like to try and make her last months a little easier to manage, both financially and personally, so I've set up a GoFundMe to assist her with both end of life care and the costs of funeral/burial arrangements. Brenda is currently on a fixed income and has very little room for anything other than bills and food, so any help we can give her will be greatly appreciated.

I've made a list of a few things she might need help with:

A new bed or recliner (she loves her recliner) to ease her back pain

Medical bills/equipment that her insurance won’t cover

Comfort care items

Funeral/burial expenses

As some of you may know, too, it has been my desire to help her enjoy this last season of her life. We had planned on taking a couple of trips, but as her health deteriorates, it’s becoming harder for her to travel. But rest assured, I will continue to try. Any funds left over after we make sure she has what she needs will be used to try and have a little fun, too.

Brenda is a kind and gentle soul and anyone (including animals) who has come in contact with her has no doubt experienced her love and support. She has spent her life giving back to her community, fighting for animals, against homelessness, helping anyone that might be struggling with mental health, and if you’re looking for a good place to eat, or a good book to read…she’s your girl.
