Miranda recently received the heartbreaking news that her beloved cat, Harold, has been diagnosed with possible intestinal cancer. Harold is a sweet boy full of personality who loves forehead pets and brings so much love and joy into our lives every day. After noticing he was losing a significant amount of weight, we brought him to the vet in search of answers.

Learning that it may be intestinal cancer has been devastating. So far, just covering the initial testing, blood work, and imaging has already cost around $1,800, requiring Miranda to use much of her savings simply to understand what Harold is facing.

At this point, the next steps are still uncertain. Additional diagnostic testing is needed before a treatment plan can be determined. Depending on the results, care could involve chemotherapy, or it may focus on comfort measures such as steroids and supportive care to keep Harold feeling as comfortable and loved as possible for however long he has. Because of this, the total cost of his care is still up in the air.

The timing has been especially hard with the holidays, as Miranda is currently not working and living off limited savings.
