Hi, this is Jen. My sister, Jackie, and I are starting this GoFundMe to help support our mom, Rosetta, who is at home on hospice. She had a heart attack on Friday, March 13th. She was in MICU until the following Friday. They sent her home, like I said above, on hospice. She is currently dealing with a few medical conditions besides the heart attack.
Currently, we only get CNAs, who only check her vitals and if she needs anything, 3 days a week. We are her only “caregivers.” My sister and I both work and cannot afford to take the time needed away to care for her properly, help her navigate this time, and be able to financially support her needs and our own. If we could find a way to be able to have extra CNAs or even nurses, M-F, while we work to bring in income, that would be a tremendous help!! Our only other option is for us to not work, so we can care for our mom around the clock but would suffer great financial difficulties.
All of her insurance coverage is currently taking care of her medications. If any of those change above what is covered, that would come out of our pocket. Of course, we will do whatever is needed. Along with the above requests, all of her “end of life” arrangements are paid for, with the exception of the actual service and her casket. I am unsure if there is a headstone purchased or not. These would also need to be paid for by us.
Both of my parents are on fixed incomes. My sister still works; her husband is disabled. My husband and I both work, and all 3 of us are out of vacation/sick time. My husband and I both live and work in New Orleans, LA. Travel is a huge expense. I know and understand how difficult times are for everyone. Any help you can give, donate, prayers, sharing this fundraiser are and will be greatly appreciated! We’re not sure how much longer our mom is going to be around, and we’re just trying to make her as comfortable as we can and make sure all of her needs are met.
Thank you!
