This is Surlene a life-time friend of Beneva and her family. Beneva's son Mason is in the final stages of a progressive cancer. Mason grew up in Palo Alto, where he lives now. He attended Loma Vista Elementary and Gunn High Schools.

Now in this phase of his life he needs the community's help. He is 61 years old, and Beneva, his mother, is 86 years old. In today's society the cost of medical care to make Mason comfortable during this transitional period is high and help is hard to find. It is too much for Beneva to care for him on her own. We are raising money so that Beneva can bring in home health support and nursing support beyond the part-time help of the hospice nurse.
