Help Me Care for My Mother Gloria in Her Fight Against Cancer

In 2014, my mother Gloria came to visit me here in the United States. What was supposed to be a joyful visit turned into one of the most difficult moments of our lives.

Shortly after she arrived, she became very ill. We rushed to the hospital, and there we received news that changed everything: she had kidney cancer.

She went through surgery and the necessary treatments. After that surgery, the battle truly began, and several other surgeries followed. She had complications including a hernia in the intestinal area, heart-related procedures, and the removal of her gallbladder.

For a while, we believed that the hardest part was behind us. But in reality, it was only the beginning of a fight that seems to have no end.

Then, on December 24th, 2023, we received a phone call from the hospital that changed our reality once again. The cancer had returned.

Soon after that devastating news, we discovered that she also had a tumor in her thyroid, which required yet another surgery.

Since then, her condition has continued to worsen. My mother’s cancer is extremely rare — with only about 25 cases recorded. We have tried every possible option, including alternative treatments, always hoping to find a solution.

Unfortunately, the treatments did not bring the results we hoped for.

Now doctors have recommended palliative care, focused on providing comfort, dignity, and the best possible quality of life during this very delicate time.

I work independently cleaning houses here in the United States. Over the past few months, I have lost some clients and my income has decreased significantly. There are also days when I can't work because I need to care for my mother.

The expenses for medications, supplements, medical appointments, transportation, and basic needs continue to grow.

That is why I am asking for help.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference in helping us cover the costs of medications, supplements, and essential expenses during this difficult time.

Ajude-me a cuidar da minha mãe Gloria em sua luta contra o câncer

Em 2014, minha mãe Gloria veio me visitar aqui nos Estados Unidos. O que deveria ser apenas uma visita cheia de alegria acabou se tornando um dos momentos mais difíceis das nossas vidas.

Logo depois que ela chegou, começou a passar mal. Corremos para o hospital e ali recebemos uma notícia que mudou tudo: ela estava com câncer no rim.

Ela passou por cirurgia e realizou todo o tratamento necessário. Após essa cirurgia, a luta começou e diversas cirurgias vieram depois dessa. Foram hérnia na região do intestino, coração, retirada da vesícula. Durante um tempo acreditamos que aquele capítulo difícil tinha ficado para trás. Era só o começo de uma luta que parece não ter fim.

Mas no dia 24 de dezembro de 2023, recebemos uma ligação do hospital que mudou novamente nossa realidade. O câncer havia voltado.

Logo depois dessa trágica notícia, descobrimos que ela estava com tumor na tireoide e mais uma cirurgia aconteceu.

Desde então, a situação tem se agravado. O câncer da minha mãe é extremamente raro — existem apenas cerca de 25 casos registrados. Tentamos todas as possibilidades, inclusive tratamentos alternativos, sempre com esperança de encontrar uma solução.

Infelizmente, os tratamentos não tiveram o resultado esperado.

Agora os médicos nos encaminharam para cuidados paliativos, focados em oferecer conforto, dignidade e qualidade de vida neste momento tão delicado.

Eu trabalho de forma independente com limpeza de casas aqui nos Estados Unidos. Nos últimos meses perdi alguns clientes e minha renda diminuiu bastante. Além disso, há dias em que não consigo trabalhar porque preciso cuidar da minha mãe.

As despesas com medicamentos, suplementação, consultas, transporte e necessidades básicas continuam aumentando.

Por isso estou pedindo ajuda.

Qualquer contribuição, de qualquer valor, fará uma grande diferença para nos ajudar a cobrir os custos de medicamentos, suplementação e despesas essenciais durante este momento difícil.
