My sweet 5-year-old cat, Beatrice, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, further treatment isn’t possible because Beatrice’s cancer is extremely aggressive, and the kindest option now is to focus on keeping her comfortable and surrounded by love for the next couple of months she has left. She’s been by my side through my early twenties, and her prognosis has been devastating news.

Right now, my only goal is to make her remaining time as peaceful, pain-free, and love-filled as possible. Sadly, the cost of her medical care and the at-home euthanasia she’ll eventually need have become overwhelming, especially as I work toward graduating college in the next few months. I’m not someone who usually asks for help, but I want to make sure Beatrice’s final days are filled with warmth, dignity, and peace.
