Comet's Surgery

Our wonderful friend and companion, Comet, ended up needing emergency surgery for an obstruction in his intestines. He got to the vet and was severely dehydrated and could not keep anything down. The vet determined that he had an obstruction and would need surgery immediately in order to survive. 
Comet is an 11 year old yellow lab that has been with our family since he was a puppy. He is my oldest daughter's special friend and she was devastated about the news. Even though she is attending and paying for graduate school at the moment, she insisted that we go ahead with the surgery despite the financial hardship that it will cause. 
The money raised will go towards the cost of the surgery which came to $3000. Every little thing would help immensely and we will be so grateful. Comet is a very special dog, loyal, and very goofy. He loves to go for long runs, is so patient with Lyra the cat when she plays with him, and loves company. Chantal loves him dearly and everyone who meet him, can't help loving his goofy nature.
