Comequi

This year, I am turning 50 and I wanted to celebrate it meaningfully.

End of October, I will take a trip to Congo where my mother was born and lived with her family until 1960.

We want to make this trip an opportunity to give back to a country, that hosted our family for many years, by supporting local charities and social enterprises.

I am going to do this trip with Comequi, a charity that supports the rural community of Lake Kivu in DRC/Congo, the region where my family lived. The purpose is to help these communities create sustainable business, to increase their revenues and improve their life conditions. A social entreprise model that I strongly believe in aiming to build autonomy and sustainability for the future. Therefore, Comequi supports all kind of activities like growing fair trade and organic coffee, a school, a hospital, communal fields, beekeepers, etc.
